Review: AVENE HYDRANCE AQUA CREAM-IN-GEL for Oily Skin | Singapore

Hey there! I have been so overwhelmed by all the new skincare launches recently and sorry this took so long. I had to try the products and it takes time because skincare takes time.

Avene Hydrance Aqua Cream-in-Gel 2

I have been a fan of Avene products way back in my junior college days. I suffered from acne, oily skin etc… and I was introduced to this brand and wala! Avene is a french brand and is a specialist in sensitive skin. Simply to say, Avene believes in Thermal Spring Water, which is super gentle and used in a lot of their products. I’ll leave the history to you…

The Cleanance Cleansing Gel and Thermal Spring Water Spray have been my holy grail for over 5 years now, and when the NEW HYDRANCE AQUA CREAM-IN-GEL was launched, I was over-the-moon to try it!

Avene Hydrance Aqua Cream-in-Gel

The new HYDRANCE AQUA CREAM-IN-GEL is specially formulated for Asian skin, with all-in-1 benefits to soothe, hydrate and protect skin. What I like about it is that it is alcohol-free, so it’s super gentle on the skin.

This light melty cream is formulated with Cucurbita Peppo, which provides a mattifying action to smooth pores. To rectify dullness caused by dehydration, Myrthus extract is added to brighten up and even skin tone, and finally Pre-tocopheryl, a patented and powerful cellular antioxidant, protects your skin from external aggressors that causes further loss of moisture.

Avene Hydrance Aqua Cream-in-Gel 3

This is a nice moisturiser. It feels very nice and soft on the skin. I use it both day and night. But preferably in the day, as I prefer something more hydrating at night. If you have extremely oily skin, this will be great for your night time routine.

Avene Hydrance Aqua Cream-in-Gel Swatch

At first, I thought it felt thick but it’s actually lightweight. It absorbs into the skin quickly. I find this suitable for oily skin. If you are afraid to use cream moisturizers, try this because the gel texture allows it to be absorbed into skin quickly. Perfect for summer time or if you live in a hot humid climate like Singapore.

It doesn’t make me look greasy (means hydrating enough because technically oily skin results from to dehydrate skin). I actually like this fact a lot. It doesn’t melt my makeup or clog my pores. It also helps in sebum control.

Suitable for those who has sensitive skin, as what Avene is known for. Retails for SGD49.90. Available at Watsons, Guardian, Unity and National Skin Center (heard from friend that NSC recommended this brand to her, if NSC recommends it, it means it’s really suitable, isn;t it?)
